This notice covers the Gillie waitlist at askgillie.com. It explains what we collect, why, where it is kept, and how you can see or delete it. Last updated 20 October 2026.
Who we are
The controller of your data is [Company legal name], [registered address]. For anything about your data, email hello@askgillie.com.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- Your role: founder, executive, investor or other.
- What you would hand off first, if you choose to tell us.
- Your personal invite code, and the invite code you arrived with, if any.
- When you joined.
To stop abuse of the form, we keep a one-way, salted hash of your IP address for about two hours. We cannot turn it back into your IP address.
Why, and on what basis
- To give you a place on the waitlist and tell you when it opens. You asked us to; this is a step before a possible contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To decide who to invite first, using your role, your answer and how many people joined through your invite link. This is our legitimate interest in opening Gillie in small, well-matched groups (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To keep the form safe from spam and abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).
We send you one confirmation email now and one email when your place opens. No marketing, no newsletter.
Where it is kept, and who processes it
Your data is stored and processed in the European Union, in Amazon Web Services' Frankfurt region, under AWS's GDPR data processing terms. AWS sends our emails from the same region. Pages are delivered through AWS's content network, which does not store your form data.
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies, and no analytics.
How long we keep it
Until your place opens and you decide whether to join, and for no longer than 24 months after you signed up. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we do so straight away. Deleted data leaves our backups within 35 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to our use of it based on legitimate interest. Emailhello@askgillie.com from the address you signed up with, and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
